The school gates are opened 10 minutes before the start of the day at 8:40am. On arrival at school, children should go into class for S.P.L.A.T. time (Sundon Park Learns and Thinks) - this is a time for children to prepare themselves for the day.

ABSENCES

If your child is absent for any reason, please inform the school by telephone and either leave a message by choosing the 'report my child absent' option or speak to office staff. A signed letter will then be required on their return to school. The school's educational welfare officer regularly checks registers and parents are contacted if there are any unaccounted absences.

If your child reports late for school, he/she must report to the school office so that the attendance register can be amended and an entry made to record the lateness.

APPOINTMENTS DURING THE SCHOOL DAY

If your child needs to attend a medical appointment during the school day, a letter will need to be sent to the class teacher. Children will not be allowed to leave the school premises unless collected by a responsible person.

HOLIDAYS DURING TERM TIME

Parents are not encouraged to book holidays during term time. In unavoidable circumstances, parents may request a Holiiday Authorisation form. The maximum absence the Headteacher is able to authorise is ten days per academic year.
